Don't Miss any Opportunities for Further Business | Simply Business ...

Speaking opportunitiesI was working with a client earlier this month who is due to deliver a talk in a few weeks? time. Whether or not it will be a paid engagement has yet to be decided, at which point I suggested my client prepare to use it as a marketing opportunity, especially if no money would be changing hands!

As my client?s audience are ideal prospective clients, it makes sense for her to plan a way of attracting enquiries and also get contact details to follow up after the event. This can be done in several ways, perhaps by offering a free report, more detailed notes relating to the talk, or a one-to-one consultation.

If it turns out that the organizers will be paying a fee, then my client will obviously need to check if it?s OK to include a marketing message.

It took me far too long to realise that talks and workshops are also opportunities to create new products, so now I always make sure my clients don?t miss out on potential extra revenue by helping them.

The talk should be recorded, using audio or video, or both. Together with any slides, handouts and the script or presentation notes, these can be reused and transformed into a digital product to sell on the website.

Snippets from the individual components can also be used as marketing tools across the internet, by sharing on sites such as YouTube, SlideShare, as well as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn & Google+ and so on.

If you?re wishing you had thought of recording your work before today, it isn?t too late to put together a digital product from previous talks or presentations. It?s surprising how much material you probably already have that can be given a new lease of life and made into a new source of revenue for your business.
